Ukraine Hands Over Captive Belarusian Wagner Officer To Russia

Yesterday Ukraine and Russia held a 90 to 90 exchange of prisoners of war. Belarusian Andrei Herylovich was among the Russian captives, reports "Radio Svaboda" with reference to the "I Want to Live" project.

Herylovich fought on the side of Russia in the PMC Wagner. He was taken prisoner in November 2022. In March 2023, a Ukrainian court sentenced Herylovich to 9 years in prison. He was found guilty under the article of "Participating as a Mercenary in an Armed Conflict, Military or Violent Actions".

Herylovich was born in Rechytsa district, after school he worked at the local collective farm, served in the army in Kalodzishchy, after the service he worked as a climber-assembler in a private firm. He signed a contract with PMC "Wagner" in July 2022.

Herylovich became the third Belarusian, who was handed over to Russia from the Ukrainian captivity. Earlier, Ukraine handed over Maksim Zapeka and Maksim Ziaziulchyk to Russia.
