The Ministry of Health tried to justify itself.

More than half of pneumonias in Belarus are now caused by mycoplasmas. In addition, doctors record pneumonia due to a combination of mycoplasmas, rhino-, bocaviruses, metapneumoviruses and adenoviruses, reports the Ministry of Health.

As a rule, the disease runs in a milder form, it is pneumonia of medium severity. It does not need intensive care, as well as artificial ventilation.

The disease is spread by airborne transmission.

Deputy Minister - Chief Sanitary Doctor of Belarus Sviatlana Niachai said that mycoplasma pneumonia is most common among children over five years old and adolescents.

At the same time, last week there was a rise in Homel and Vitsebsk regions, while now there is allegedly a decline.

Earlier it was reported that hospitals in two Belarusian cities were overcrowded with patients with pneumonia.
